TV capture storage requirements

Hi all. I'm hoping to get an AIW 9700 Pro in the next few months, and one of the things that interested me about it was the ability to schedule and record TV programs. I was wondering if there was a common measurement in terms of size for a TV show? For example, a 30 min program will eat up X GB of storage.

Thanks!

I think you need something like 15GB free to capture a good long video. I can see how HDD requirements have skyrocketed in the past several years.

Depends what format you capture to...

For 30 mins:

VCD--> 309MB

SVCD @ 2500kbps--> 612MB

DivX @ 800kbps with 128kbps MP3 audio--> 208MB

Uncompressed RGB with PCM audio--> 13GB
