I am buying a TV Card for my fiance's, he has wanted one for a while. Only thing it needs to be able to do is let him record shows from our DVR to his computer so he can then put them on DVD how he wants. I guess he has to play them on the DVR and then record on his computer.

I was just about to order a PVR-150, but thought I would get a few more opinions before I do.. Anyone use this card or can recommend another card to do what he needs?

Thanks!
Kelly

Welcome to the forums.

The PVR-150 is a nice card, and will fit your needs. Yes, if you have things already stored on a DVR, you will have to play them back into the PC (unless your DVR has some other way of getting at them directly, but most don't).

PLEASE search for more information, as questions about capture cards get asked a lot.

PVR-150 is a fine card, although I have heard on and off the bundled software is crap. That said however it is well supported in most third party applications, so it should be a non-issue.

PVR-150 is excellent, and any ATI theater 550 based cards are as well (better image quality but you might never notice) Dont' use bundled softwares though, search for best drivers for you pvr software (MCE, SAGE, Beyond....)
