TV Buying Advice

I have a Samsung 42" 720p 60hz plasma TV that I'm considering selling it for $400. Do you think it is worth it to sell it and buy a 46" c630 Samsung 1080p 120hz for ~$800?

Could you please place the original price of your current plasma and how long it has been since purchase. If its 2 years old then you should deduct 25% price from the original cost and If its beyond 2-3 years, then 50% value is more than enough.

What you paid has nothing to do with what it's worth.

42 --> 46 probably isn't worth it IMHO. Might as well go for 55 or something larger if you're going to upgrade.

I would disagree. I couldn't believe how much larger my 50" plasma looked than my 47" LCD when I last upgraded. Four inches is actually quite a lot, especially in a smaller room.

I agree with you. For less than that 46" in the OP, he can get a 50" 720p plasma. If he sits far enough away and won't be using it as a computer monitor, then he'll notice the increase in size more than the loss of resolution.

If he sits 10' or farther away, then I'd recommend looking at a DLP. $930 for a 65" DLP would be a really nice upgrade.
