hey .... i have a satellite 5205-s703 ... i was wondering is it possible to hear the sound from my tv on my laptop speakers?????? my tv has a port which says EARPHONES which i assume means thats its a audio out..... also my laptop has an audio in .... so....

1) how would it work??? what wire do i need to get to connect my tvs audio out to my laptops audio in?
2) what software would i need to play the audio from the tv .. i want it real time.. i dont wanna record it and then listen to it .. i wanna use my laptop speakers as a substitute for my tv speakers ( they arent too good! and are not workin properly either )

thanks

IIRC the earphone jack is a high level signal and may give too much signal for your Line-in on your PC.

Better via a line level output on your TV/Video, to the line-in of your sound card.
The plugs on your TV that are line level outputs are:

Labelled: Record or Aux-out or Line-Out
Cabled: Usually by Dual RCA plug to stereo 1/8" mini-phone plug "Y" cord (Red is Right)

----------------------
Scart Audio out to 3.5mm stereo-mini plug - This one you may have to end up making. Look here for SCART pinouts:

If you have VCR then Scart off that if no other scarts available or difficult to setup
---------------------

Don't try using the S-Video it only carries Video signals

Any decent Sound shop will kit you up for a few quid.

btw your s/card "Line In" = Blue

see its this smal 14 inch televideo ! so all it has is Video in , audio in and the Earphone jack..... i dont have a vcr..... so i guess the only option i have is the earphone ........ would i suggest i use it even though it might send a high level signal????? what would happen if i do connect it... are there chances of the line in of my laptop screwing up or somethin?/

thanks for ur reply...
