I am planning on setting up a 13 in. tv and hooking a old 300 mhz PII machine to it. It will be used to play mp3s and some Trivia games such as you don't know jack, it will be set up near our bar in our living room. I already have a Radeon 7500 in my good system and I really like the ease of configuring it to work on a TV. So now here is the question:

Do I buy another 7500 and put that in the system for around $80 knowing that it will probably be over kill but not having to worry about getting something might need some toying with? or do I buy a older cheaper TV-Out card and take a chance on getting something I don't know about? I would really like to save money but I don't have much experience in this area. So I would need a suggestion to which older card would be fine.

Another question anyone know any other good trivia games that would be fun to play with a group of people?

Or is this whole idea way to off the wall!!!!!!

this is a pretty cool idea, I thought.. although playing games on a 13" TV with many people might get old soon, and that computer would be left just for playing MP3s, which is fine with any decent soundcard through some kick ass home stereo system. For the video card, 7500 would be an overkill. See if you can find some older All-in-Wonders, or even Rage level cards that would do the trick.

Or instead of buying another video card why not just get a 14" monitor for like $20 if size is not a concern? I've seen people practically giving away used monitors of that size. It would look alot better than a video card tv out that's for sure.

I want to be able to watch TV too. So when there are two football games on or basketball games.

just get a radeon 7000 or something along those lines. 7500 is definitely overkill.

Just don't expect to able to use that TV as a "real" monitor, that is looking at too much text and stuff.

TV's have WAY too bad image quality to serve as real monitors.
For a watching a movie or two, or just changing MP3's in a playlist, it will work though.
