TV and neffing.

Can you watch tv and nef at the same time?
I love this shyt.
If there's one part I'd really miss, it's a tuner card.

I had to rig a long cat5 cable into my living room to watch TV and surf the intraweb at the same time. my wireless took a giant babysitter crap on me. i should have my normal pc in my living room but alas i have this little lappy.

I can't. When I'm watching TV I'm actually watching it...so it slows down the nef rate a lot.

My laptop is in a cardboard box in the basement. I tore it apart and need some parts.
I hate lappys anyways, it's a good place for it.

it's DSL. strangely, they don't offer cable here and won't for a few years. i'd give anything to have TV on my desktop although the wife definitely wouldn't see me much if I did. can you watch satellite with one of those babies too?

I'm on a laptop right now, so no TV tuner, but I can nef. And I do have TV tuners on my other computers, but I don't nef often. But I need to now.

Heck, I even ventured into OT to celebrate this event, and I found a thread with the word "neffing" in the title. It seemed to work. But I couldn't bring myself to create another thread about it, so I'll just hijack this one.

Yup, you can watch satellite too, but you need a different tuner card.
I think they call it a satellite tuner card. 🙂

I can record one channel while I'm watching another with my Hauppauge PVR500.
Media Center has a guide and you can just click "record series" and never miss another show.
It is simply awesome. I love it.

I bought a cheap dbx card for my wife's machine and it only cost like 20 bucks. I can watch and nef on her rig in a pinch. If I want to record two shows while I'm watching, I can record on mine, watch mine and record on hers. I can watch crap across the network that I've recorded anywhere.

Wow. I am really behind in the whole TV capturing deal. Maybe in the next budget upgrade or build, I can include some of these nice little trinkets :evil: 🙂
