Tutorials on e4300 overclocking

Can you point me to some tutorials on overclocking the e4300? Tutorials as in step by step this is what you have to do sort of thing, I have never overclocked before.

Also, could I up the fsb to 266 right away and move slowly from there or should I move up 1mhz at a time even at the stock levels?

So do you have any suggestions? Also, is overclocking pretty much the same for all processors/motherboards?

it depends on what processor series, what socket, what revision, etc. generally though, all processors that will work on a given socket will be the same. so all 939 processors are ~ the same, and, i presume the same goes for intel, so all lga775 processors are ~ the same. it's all basically the same thing between any modern system anyway, just executed in a slightly different manner depending on the specific hardware.

for your e4300, you might want to try the bsel mod, but if you're not comfortable with that then just up the fsb to 266, see if it's stable (prime stable 15 minutes), then go to 300, and slowly go from there in increments of like 20 before you fail, then when you do go back and go up by 10, 5, 3...until you find the limit (when its as high as it can go and be prime stable for 15 minutes). then up the voltage a notch and do it again (only start with increments of 10).

that's basically it lol. oh also make sure your ram can keep up.

Thanks a ton for the tips! Also, is there a software program used to check stability or do I just run whatever game I'm into?

Hey, I recently put together a system with an E4300 and Gigabyte DS3 Rev. 1.3. I was pretty quickly able to achieve 400x9=3.6 at 1.45 volts. Temps were a little high though and I have a Thermalright Ultra 120 on the way. Anyway, here are some guides/threads I found helpful.
