Turtle Beach?

My friend tells me that I should get the best THX speakers out there for my comp, and instead of getting the Audigy2 ZS I should get a Turtle Beach sound card. Anyone ever use any of these? After looking at the stats between them I really don't know about the Turtle Beach...
 
I don't like any of Turtle Beach's current sound cards. The Santa Cruz has a rabid following and I'm assuming this is card that your friend wants you to get. It's still a decent card, arguably better than their newer cards, but it's dated and no longer supported. Speaking as an owner of a Santa Cruz (up to four at one time), get the Audigy2 ZS. It's just as good for music and is better at DVD playback as well. For gaming, well, there's no contest. The A2 owns the market in this area.
 
Which Turtle Beach sound card? I've used 4 of their products in the past and when they were released there was nothing better IMNSHO. 🙂

I don't think TB has anything to compare to the Audigy 2 now, though. I am looking for a used Santa Cruz at the moment only because I don't want to give Creative any of my money.

I've got the latest turtle beach catalina7.1 in a 5.1 setup with a digital decoder/amp. It works great and can hookup with either analog or its optical out. It has an optical in for other devices wihich is nice.
I've also got a M-audio revolution 7.1 on a 5.1 setup with a digital decoder/amp. It only has a digital coax output as well as analog. If you're serious about music this is the one. The sound is very noticably better than any other consumer level soundcard. A lot of times I just listen to it in 2.1 mode.
Both of these cards are better in my opinion than any creative (I've also had almost all of them) if for no other reason than the software is so simple and not bloated.
The THX certification isn't all it's cracked up to be.
If you want to solve a lot of problems hook up a decent home theatre amp to either of the above, that decodes dts, dolgydig/ex etc and you will be able to do whatever you want.
Google for reviews on the m-audio card.
