OK...this is my first Hot Deal post! So please let me know if this is on here already...I did a search and came up with nothing.
Well first let me give credit to Bad Dude...he pointed me to the site. Here is the Dell Link and if you go to the Turtle Beach site you can see that they are the exact same packaging. The Dell Small Biz site has it for $69, but there is a 20% coupon code out there on your favorite technical bargain site if you can find it.😀
So the total is under $63 shipped. Thats not bad for a retail version of one of the best sound cards out there.
:Q OOOH btw the coupon code expires tomorrow!!!!!

Bump since it ends tomorrow. If I help just one person get this, then I'll have done my part to make the world a better place. And in the end, isn't that what's really important?

Think about it.

aren't we all so polite....darn..this is a wonderful board to be associatated with...Lets all hold hands now!!!😉

Thanks for the deal stockjock. I ordered the OEM version of this card last week from Canada Computers but they ended up canceling it because they don't ship to the US after all. This only worked out to about $5 more but it's the retail version.

While we're all holding hands I think we should sing Kumbaya. 🙂

"I love you, you love me, <BANG> <BANG> Oh. There goes that purple dino! Oh well. Goo deal though. Can't decide if I NEED this. Hows it compare to SB Live

a Comparable card that worth consideration for you.

Philips Acoustic Edge PSC706, $77 plus $5.95 s/h at EMS Computing

Total $82.95, but there's a $20 rebate running till 06/30/01

Final price shipped after rebate is about the same as Santa Cruz, just want to give you another choice.

You asked how it compares to the SB live card...I have a SB Live and continually have problems with it and my KX133 board. Supposedly The Philips and Turtle Beach cards don't have the compatibility problems that the SB Live cards have.

I have one of these cards, and I must offer that it is great! I have had NO problems with it and it works great with every game I have tried. It has support for the Sensaura?, EAX?, A3D?, DS3D, and IA3D 3D sound standards.

If any of you are going to buy this, you might want the latest software for it. Go HERE for the latest drivers (version 4081, dated 3/27/01). They have drivers for Win9X, WinME, Win2K, and WinNT4 SP4.

Note too that you can get this card direct from Voyetra/Turtle Beach for $79.95 plus shipping if retail is that important to you.

Well I to have the SB Live and have not had any problems with it. A7V133 Asus board. I'm just wondering if I want to get one of these for my other computer.

BigDaddy also has the same exact Turtle Beach card. In my opinion it is a great card and well worth the money! You won't be disappointed, jump on that deal, believe me.

Since the drivers page says a lot of the driver updates are not for the "Dell version", I'll pass...

Buycom has it for $ 71.95 + $ 5.95 s/h

CNET prices

So TBeach tells us that and we just believe it? Not. Most of us will try the drivers any way. The only difference might be the printing the card. If it's the same chipset why not work with the same drivers? It's all come down to the fact that TBeach does not want to support their drivers for those who bought the card from Dell. So there you have it, same chipset, OEM vs. retail, you can use the same drivers.

I wonder if anyone got the card yet and compare the drivers?

Bad_Dude

I do not know where you got the notion that sound cards have a BIOS. They do not.

I did not compare the Santa Cruz drivers between Dell and Voyetra Turtle Beach, but it would be simple to do so, as both are available for downloading. As I said, both claim to be the same version.

FYI, Sonic Fury in some other parts of the world is also the same card. Their drivers are a little bit older.

I bought one of these cards as an openbox deal at the local EB. I used it for gaming and as my surround sound system for my DVD. Does 5.1 really well. Not one complaint other that the center channel and sub output is the same jack.

Has anyone that ordered one even received an order/shipping confirmation yet? I ordered one on Saturday, but other than the autoresponder invoice, I haven't heard a thing from them yet.
