Turtle Beach Santa Cruz problem in Epox 8k7a mobo

I built a new system over 6 months ago that included Win 98 SE, the Epox 8k7a motherboard, and the Santa Cruz. I recently tried to reinstall the sound drivers (as directed from the Voyetra website) and now all of a sudden i can't get it to work. After i uninstall everything Turtle Beach from my system (including registry entries), i reboot, it detects the sound card, i cancel through that (as it says to do from the latest driver readme file), i run the the setup program, drivers seem to install smoothly, reboot, no sound and no error message. When i go into Device Manager, however, a "PCI Multimedia Audio Device" appears in the Other section saying no driver's are installed for it. I have tried about a dozen times and every time i reboot after the drivers have finished installing, i get the "PCI Multimedia Audio Device" appearing in the Other section of Device Manager.

There is nothing running in the background other thatn Systray and Explorer when i install the drivers. Also, there doesn't seem to be any conflicts in IRQ, Memory, etc. Bear in mind, it had been working flawlessly for 6 months. Anyone got some ideas?

I had a similar problem a few days ago with my TBSC. I removed the drivers, cleaned out the registry and reinstalled. No go. I finally uninstalled the SC Control Panel and Audio Station as well, doublechecked the registry for anything Voyetra, TB or SC. Shut down, removed the card and booted up several times. Replaced the card, booted up bypassing the Windows P&P install. Ran the TB setup and all is fine again.
