turtle beach santa cruz oem?

I bought a Dell-refurbished Turtle Beach Santa Cruz OEM soundcard from a friend. I was going to download the drivers from the Turtle Beach website, but it states that if you have an OEM one not to download the drivers/software. Anyone know why?
 
Those drivers work flawlessly on the Dell OEM. THe Dell OEM is identical to the Retail Santa Cruz. What Turtle Beach says on its website is done for support reasons.

I got a couple OEM Santa Cruz in the infamous Dell deal a few months back (about $40 each, shipped) and they are identical to the retail Santa Cruz. TB simply states that to avoid additional support issues. You can use the drivers from TB without a hitch.
