CompUSA has the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz 6-channel sound card for $39.99 after $40 instant savings. Good from 09-14 through 09-20.

Edit: As has been pointed out in posts below, PM at CC and then send in $30 MIR.

So, I'm guessing buy at CC an PM CUSA. ~$36 out the door (110% PM) with $30 MIR on the way.

That is a sweet deal.

OP, I was just gonna come online to post on the PM and rebate. Please change title to reflect that you can possibly get a TBSC for $6 ;) SpaceHulk was thinking waht I was thinking (happened before when Fry's had the SC for $50, and CC had it at $80 - $40 MIR).

YMMV; you need a kind and/or unknowing CSR at the service desk :)

Excellent card. Lightyears ahead of what you can buy from Soundblaster at this price level.

Somehow I didn't get a CC sale circular with my Sunday paper. Seems like you shouldn't have a problem with still getting the MIR after the PM, but one just never knows.

Even if the CC guys don't wanna give you the rebate, you can print one online. If they say they have a rebate so they can't PM, tell them you don't like paying $79.99 outta the door and that you'd rather pay $35.99 out of the door and not receive the rebate (then you come home and print one here

My plan is to purchase the card at CC for the regular price, take the receipt right next door to the Office Max and make a photocopy of the receipt. Then I will take it back over to CC for the price match adjustment.

The rebate form only asks for a legible copy of the receipt, and I'm not sure if CC would reject the MIR if the receipt reflected the after PM price. Seems like it should work.

Yes this is a good card. I tried one out, and noticed it had much richer sound compared to the SB, when playing audio files and CD's. But the DirectSound and EAX sound in games was horrible! Even with EAX turned off, the sound was terrible in games like Diablo 2, Unreal Tourn... Voices sounded muffled and sound effects were not clean sounding. So as much as I didn't want to support Creative anymore, I got a Audigy 2.

But, if you don't play any games, then this is a good deal for this card.

Nice sounding card for music and DVDs but I've had trouble with it in some games like Asheron's Call and others where the sound would drop out and stuff.

YodaYoda, I like my soundstorm but my BA-735 speakers don't like the digital SPDIF out on the soundstorm, and the 3.5mm jacks are all analog. The speakers do work with the Versajack set to Digital out though, so here I go springing for a TBSC :)

got shot down on CC CS for PM.

Circuit City takes into account the AR price when doing a PM, which is 10 dollars more than the COMPUSA price

saw another guy got shot down too at the CS counter when I do pm... I return the card on the spot...

oh, well... spend less, save more, lol

My suggestion: buy and PM at the cashier, don't buy it first and PM at CS, CS are more knowledgeable..

Didn't work for me. The CC CS asked me if I had came in earlier today for the same price match. I said no. She explained to me that someone earlier was trying to do the same thing. But since the card at CompUSA was listed as a 6 channel card, and is "MP3" version, it's not the same as the one they were selling. I didn't feel like arguing over it, so I just returned it.

So this deal is a huge YMMV.

P.S they had the Return to Wolfenstein for $7.99 (even though the sticker said it was $19.99). Got myself a copy.

Just FYI, there are only 2 versions of the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, retail and OEM. That is it. There is no special 6-speaker version, no "mp3" version. Both CC and CUSA are selling the retail version.

This deal is freakin' hot as hell.

Score! The manage took a while but came out and told the CSR to give us the rebates if there are any. They even gave us 2 copies of everything :)

speaking from personal experience, just ask to see a manager if they give you any trouble. my managers all bend over and take it whenever the slightest discrepency comes up with customers.

First try being nice, and friendly with a CSA, because chances are they'll do it for you if you're nice. If they don't, just ask for a manager and they WILL do it for you...
