seems the original translation was incorrect, every news agency that initially carried it has posted a correction.
The Guardian newspaper initially wrote that Putin called Trump “bright,” but then revised its item with this explanation: “An earlier version quoted Putin as saying ‘bright and talented.’ To clarify: The word he used was ‘yarkii’ (яркий), which can mean bright or brilliant, but not in the sense of intelligent; it can also be translated as colorful, vivid or flamboyant.”

Of note, none of those news reports say Putin called Trump a “genius.”

And last night he goes on Larry King who now works for Russia Times, praises Putin some more while trashing the U.S. to a Russian Audience. Explanation? They didn't know it was for a Russian audience......

Putin said something similar to "Trump is clever" per a Russian speaker I know.
Which isn't a genius bit generally is a compliment.
I am shocked that many of the Defense oriented hawks hate Muslims so much they ignore the Russian angle with Trump.

So, anyone else mildly concerned that his excuse for going on RT is that they tricked him? Duped by a TV station, great talking point dumbass.

Well, given Trump's history so far, he and the campaign never vet a damned thing...and they give the same damned lame excuse every time something like this occurs. Trump's campaign must be the stupidest, most ignorant campaign imaginable.

He only hires the best peple. Gets the best advice and does the best things. His complete lack of knowledge and experience doesn't matter because he will only be surrounded by the best people.

All this ineptness that has happened during his campaign hasn't seemed to undercut that belief with his supporters. It's fascinating to watch really.

Trump is a con man, and he's doing what con men everywhere do: pandering to an audience that's stupider than he is. That's all there is to it.
