Well here is a problem that I hope I can figure out, my reciever is stating it's +40, no mention of the +DB so I'm actually wondering how many DB it is. Maybe it's 80=90DB!?

These are polk audio speakers, last I remember, they were about $400 speakers. The reciever is a $300 Sony reciever with 6 Analog inputs (for 5.1), I know it's not the best but I can tell you it has better sound than my dad's $3k bose sound system which makes the music sound very dull.
A 500 Watt tube amp would be beastly. :QOriginally posted by: thomsbrain
of course you're probably only pushing 100 watts or less to each of the front channels, which is what matters, and if your amp is solid state then the "watts" are greatly exaggeratted... but if you're enjoying it, then  to you.

High sensitivity speakers aren't always good speakers. They can be (and I'm of the opinion that the "best" high sens speakers are more accurate than the "best" low/mid sens speakers), but it's not necessarily true.
