Turning Stone Casino

I turn 21 in less then 2 months but I can't wait. I play poker and do very nicely at it, so I'm taking a 5 hour drive to Turning Stone with a friend tomorrow. Has anyone ever been there? Any recommendations? Advice?

I'm assuming you're talking about Turning Stone near Vernoa, NY. I've had some good times playing blackjack and slots, never played poker. I haven't lived in NY for quite a few years so its probably evolved since that last time I was there.

Advice: don't bet anything you aren't willing to lose. Have fun!

Yes, I am.

Good advice... I have a bankroll specifically for poker so I'll be okay.

Well I won enough playing poker to pay for the trip about 10x over. I think I'll be going next weekend.

Uh oh. This is what started many people down the gambling hole. Be careful. Take what you would consider a reasonable amount to pay for an evening's entertainment and once that's gone, QUIT.

Sometimes you will win. Consider it a bonus. Most times you won't win. How do you think they can afford to build those big casinos and pay all the bills?

They take a rake. LOL. I've been playing poker for about 5 years, have a BR, and know the dynamics of the game. I'd say I'm a very skilled player. I made over $1200 after the trip. My weekend earning were closer to 2k because of what I made online Friday before leaving.

I don't consider poker gambling. However, your advice is much appreciated. Although you sound very similar to my family.

go to the www.twoplustwo.com forums, check out the B&M section for reviews and stuff. will this be your first time playing in a casino? the games are much easier than online for the most part.

No, I've played at the Hilton, Taj, and Trop w/ a fake. I'm so close that if I get caught now it'd just be a waste. I've profited at every casino.
