Hi all,

Is there a way to replace the switch which is connected to the ATX mobo with another one? If so, what kind of switch is compatible with it?

TIA.

Well, the power switch is just a momentary pushbutton switch that connects 2 wires for a fraction of a second....so you could replace it with any momentary switch, such as ones from radio shack.

you'd just have to have access to the wires

Cool. Thanks for the info. Does the Reset button function the same way?

yep, both reset and power buttons are just momentary switches

if you're ever trying to power up your 'puter w/out a switch, you could just momentarily "short" the correct 2 jumpers on the mobo and it would turn on...same holds true for resetting it

A flat-blade screwdriver seems to me like it would be the best tool for that, if you're going to use the shorting-the-pins method. Would probably be best to have it with an insulated handle.

That should do it. What about using those small little plastic jumpers to short the pins?
