Turning off "Scale Image to Panel Size" doesn't work!

Is anyone else having this problem? If I uncheck "scale image to panel size" under the displays tab and I try and run a resolution like 1024x768 or 800x600 it still scales the image to fit the screen. What's strange is if I select 1152x864 it doesn't scale the image and I get the black bars. So why isn't it working with the other resolutions but not 1152x864?

I'd like to use 1024x768 without the image being stretched. I don't mind the black bars while using lower resolutions.

Is this a bug with Windows XP or a bug with the Catalyst drivers?

BTW, I have a Samsung 172x.

Check your lcd's osd menu look for Image Size. You'll need to be running a non native res like 1024x768. Then you can select normal or full screen. pick normal if you want it with the black bars.

Oh so there's a setting in the LCD's OSD menu. I'll check it when I get home.

Well, I've been through the whole menu and can't find anything to turn off. Any other ideas?

BTW, I have a Samsung 172x.

On my Samsung 191T LCD using the OSD you can select options for "normal"or " expanded 1" and "expanded 2" make sure it`s on "normal" if you have that option which is under "image size".
