I know this is a pure newbie question. I am not a total newbie, but I do play one on TV. I tried searches, and can't come up with anything, as well as looking through the Windows help files.

How do I turn off the networkings so I don't have to have the login screen every time I reboot.

Thanks in advance.....

you could just use TweakUI and have it automatically put in your password when you computer starts up.

If not, just go into the networking settings and turn off Client For Microsoft Networks. (I dont know if this will remove the password prompt)

GreenSpeed: What OS are you using?
If you are refering to the Win98 login thingy, i think this will get rid of it once and for all:
Go to control panel, select passwords. In passwords click on the tab "Change passwords", enter your old password. For the new password don't enter anything, just click ok. When you are done Windows should ask you to restart. When the windows restarts the login window should pop up and ask you for password, just click ok and voila!

Hope this helps

Thanks for the replies. I am running Windows 98SE (should have put that in origional post). Right now I don't have to enter a password, I can hit enter, or click cancel when the login box appears. I just wanted to bypass that alltogether.

I will try the suggestions.

If you are running Win98SE, it shouldn't ask you again if you click enter without giving it a password.

Well at least for my Win98 that's what heppened.
