Did they add this feature in Leopard? When I'm at home I don't use my laptop display because I have a 22 inch monitor hooked up. The only way to remove my laptop monitor is to almost close it and wake it up from sleep so it displays my laptop screen.

Do you know if they made this in Leopard where I could just choose my external monitor and disable my laptop one?

Don't know about Leopard, but for Tiger I simply turn the brightness all the way down and use Caffeine to keep my system from going to sleep.

I just do the closing trick as well. I think this is one of the dumbest things about OS X...I love how you can configure any sort of external/attached monitor combo in Windows. I use a Griffin laptop stand to make it easier for wires and whatnot though.

With AC plugged in, along with external keyboard/mouse/monitor, close the laptop display, and once it goes to sleep, awaken the machine using the external keyboard. Video will now be output to the external display only.
