Turning off HTML reading in Eudora Pro?

Just read the WIRED page on email tracking using 1x1 pixel transparent gifs on the spam they send out. For those who haven't read it, they grab your IP when you request the transparent gif and can then correlate you to the spam mail if you visit their site via clickthrough or otherwise. Then they know if you are likely to read spam, send you more, etc. Of course, this only applies to a mostly static IP (not dialup).

So, in Eudora I've disabled Microsoft's viewer (i.e., using MSIE to view mail), but I've still got rudimentary HTML support. Will this save me from downloading pictures? I am thinking it might, but I just want to be sure.

You should ba OK as long as you don't use the Microsoft viewer. Eudora itself had very limited HTML support.
also make sure to UNcheck "allow executables in HTML"
