Turning off Auto detection in BIOS...

Hi,

I have an Asus A8V Deluxe motherboard. I want to know how to turn off Auto detection for my primary IDE channel. I cant seem to find it anywhere in my BIOS.

Thanks in advance, and hope to get some help!

Hi, Most systems boot a bit faster with the drives set up as User. They won't have to query the drives everytime you boot to find out if they are there and what they are. Some take a very long time if there is no drive present and it's slot is set to Auto. Most modern BIOS will automatically set up the drives to user. Check your manual. Some you just select the drive slot and press ENTER. Jim
