Turning knobs inside a monitor

I know I have posted a similar question in the Tech Support category, but I would like to give it one last try before I donate it to somewhere. To put it short, I have a 4 year old KDS AV-195TF which is OVERLY bright. This has happened when my buddy was hodling it for me, it was bearly usable when I first got it back. After turning some knobs inside, the brightness level came back considerably close to what it should have been. Even then it is waaaay to bright @ 0% brightness on the OSD.

does anyone have any experience messing with the knobs on this particular model? or better yet is it possible there are multiple buttons to adjust the brightness level? the one i found is now turned all the way to its limit, cant push it any further 🙁

I would say that if you are asking this question, you really should not have your hands inside of the monitor. I don't know if anyone told you - but this is an extremely dangerous thing to be doing, especially if you don't know what you are doing. One wrong move and you will be quite crispy.

With the price of monitors today, just trash the thing.

right... those caps hold enormous charges for days after unpowering the unit. yes, i have been warned 🙂

one of my dad's friends did not ground a monitor before he opened it up to fix it, he hit a capictor and it knocked him down on the floor unconcious.
