Turning in lease car

I am getting close to the end of my lease on my car.
Never had one before, but have heard horror stories of people getting screwed by the dealers claiming $$ for damage to vehicle etc....

Anyone have any experiences?
Are they really that strict when it comes to the usually dings from people opening doors into you etc?

My dad was never hasseled. If they start hasseling just act like you can't believe their pulling this crap and why would you lease from them again? Actually my dad normally would trade in a lease car (one of them was in a frigging state as well!) and they didn't complain because he renewed for a new lease with the same company.
