Turning an mp3 player into an external harddrive

Has anyone tried getting different types of file on their zen xtra? Are there any third party software programs I can try?

Yes. Use Notmad Explorer http://www.redchairsoftware.com. I've got a 60gb Zen w/about 35gb free that I use to store all kinds of stuff. Just drag and drop...

An excellent reason to buy your mp3 player from somebody besides creative and/or apple. I have an iaudio, which looks just like a harddrive to my computer, and looks just like a computer to other USB devices.

The best of both worlds and no additional software required.

for apple (ipod) - if you want file storage, just plug in the ipod (have it set to disk mode) and drag files to it like any other drive.
