Turning a monitor into a TV?

I am looking at buying a 20" inch LCD monitor and I am also thinking of getting a tv at somepoint. I've looked at the LCD TVs that also work as a monitor but none really have a high resolution so I was wondering if you could do something like buy a tv tuner and hook it up to a monitor. Is something like that possible?

There's also the ATI All-In-Wonder series of video cards with TV tuners built in (along with various inputs/outputs) and their stand-alone TV Tuner cards, the TV Wonder series.
