And the great thing is, both rebates only need a COPY of the UPC code. So if you keep the HDD and don't use it until you get your rebates... In the event they say one is invalid, you can just return the drive depending on how long it takes...

Score!! I got in on the PM to OM! I just went in showed them the printout from OM on the 2nd page of this thread and said can you match this price? (i.e. match the $100 price on OM sale from the $150 out the door of CC) Note, I did NOT tell them about thier sale or rebates. Only AFTER I paid for it and the rebates printed out he was like, wow thats cheap. I made sure to pay for it first with my credit card so they couldn't try to reverse the sale on me. So if any of you are having trouble, just take the drive up and ask to PM it to the OM and dont mention any sales or rebates CC is running currently.

It's been a while...

I've been checking www.circuitcityrebates.com every now and then but still nothing on my rebate status :\ Is anyone else having anything theirs show up already?

I got an email about one of mine. THen when I called them up, they said they were both in the system even though ony the one actually shows up. It only shows up when I put in the 12 digits from the original receipt. Can't get my address to work but my address is screwy.

Crossing my fingers and trying to hold off on actually opening the package in case they reject something and I want to take it back. Guess we'll see.

Update: Have check numbers for both my rebates and says they shipped on 7/12. Woo Hoo. Check your status online right away if you haven't seen anything. Otherwise give them a call.

I have gotten one of mine and don't see the other online. I plan to call on Monday to find out the status.

Got mine today. That after fighting with the Manager and filing a BBB report about the treadment I received.

I guess that would put a dent into the manager that ripped up the rebate form in front of my eyes...

You know... it all started like this. I read it and took it as a YMMV. I figured I give it a shot and if I get the simple no, I just leave it at that. But they Managed to really get me going just by the simple way they approached this. It reached a boiling point when they agreed to the deal but had to check on the deal (I showed them the OM flier) and if it is in stock. Either the clerk was mentally handicapped, or he did slush it on purpose. Either way after talking with OM he hangs up and tells me, ON LABOR DAY when everyone is running these specials, that it's not a valid promotion / has expired and they don't have a drive in stock. OK, second one I might buy if he would have at least read the right product on the phone, but basically calling me a liar (making up my own flier with the dates) well... that took the cake.
I mumbled something under my breath and just said... "I'LL BE BACK" thinking "AND NOW YOU WILL PM THIS DRIVE"!
Went to Office Max, luckily just about 2 miles, went to the shelf, which had many "Take this to the Register" tickets. Took one and purchased one. Final price without rebate.... low and behold the special price from the flier. Was polite and Thanked the OM staff. Took drive and receipt to the CC store and asked to the Manager. And so the dance began... I'll rather not go into the painful details. I did not lose my cool in the sense that I was rude, I did however raise my voice level and held a little session on posted policies (In a twist of Irony that price match rules where posted behind the counter). People looked and Manager Lady got unhappy with me. After giving me the same deal about cost, and with rebates they are cheaper, blah blah blah. I told her that the policy mentions nothing about MIR's and so forth. She gave in and proceeded to ring up the drive incl. the 10% of the difference part. When the rebates printed she looked at them, typed a little something and then while looking at me ripped the rebate forms up. Ohhhh my poor Bloodpresure.
Anyway, went home, pulled up Anand Forums and Thanks to Zerilos got the Online rebate codes. Filled everything out and send it in the next day with delivery confirmation.
And just because that Lady pissed me off I filled a BBB complained detailing the situation and requested an apology.

A friend said to me "Well, I guess that is the last CC purchase for you". Ohhhh contrair, I will purchase there EVERY TIME when one of these hits the Market. And I will just talk with Manager from the start.

Of course it's YMMV. I've been shot down by CC before but I remember with this, the guy did it without even calling Fry's, he just straight up PM'd the ad with no questions asked. Seriously, if they are being such a pain about having the rebates online, then why do they even bother to put em on the site? Makes no sense.

I also work retail (FYE, but I'll be quitting soon due to college) and usually, when someone asks me for a PM, I do it without any hassle because it's pretty much almost always legit unless they're trying to buy an Xbox for $2 or something like that. Happy customers return, returning customers = more $, leading to happy managers, happy managers = employees in good morale who provide better service.. blah blah blah you get the idea.
