I had heard from a guy I knew who worked there for 10 months due to people going to college and all, they were looking for people for the summer and next fall..so I applied there.

This past Saturday I asked for an app, turned it in yesterday, and the brief encounter between the manager and I went something like this (he's a cool looking 6'2" 200 lb. type of guy wearing shorts too short for a guy, and me..well you know what I look like perhaps):

Him: Hi...[looks over the app] so you're going to only work here for the summer?
Me: Um, no I can work past the summer to the fall as needed
Him: Oh, you're not going to college?
Me: No, I'm still in high school [I was wearing a Berkeley shirt, which may have spurred that comment]
Him: Oh you're still in high school?
Me: Yeah.
Him: Oh, but you'll only be able to work at night?
Me: Yeah.
Him: Oh okay, well thanks.

And so I left.

So now it's 12 pm..what do I do now?

That makes sense..

And when I came in there were three nice looking girls there. Good sign if he's looking to "balance" it out, bad if he's not, and REALLY good if I'm hired.

He said "Oh" that many times? Oh, you're not going to college? Oh, you are in high school? Oh, only for the summer? Oh, only at night? ...to be perfectly honest, that doesn't sound too favorable, sir...I would float a few more resumes/applications around for back-up.

Places like that usually call you regardless of whether you're hired or not. But a follow-up call never hurt anyone. Just don't pester them.
