Turn off Side Nav Bar?

Is there a way to turn this off?

I turn it off in my profile options but it always gets switched back to "on" when the page refreshed.

Any idears?

Turn off Nortons. pop up blockers, etc then try again:

Cannot Disable Sidebar

Sidebar (My Menu) Won't Go Away

Has it changed since then? I know I can't disable it using IE6.

I wish something was done about it, but I know that asking Anandtech to correct it won't make them deal with the issue any faster, and I know that it's on their lowest priority list.
