Turn off Router Firewall or not?

We are doing a network rework here at work and have a new Firewall to install so we don't need our D-Link Router anymore. But would like to still use the wireless portion of the D-Link Router. It is a D-Link DIR-655. I didn't see anything that would disable the firewall. I guess if its only connected to our switch and not the WAN it shouldn't really function as a firewall anyway, right?

Pleased advise, thank you!

Thanks for the response.........but I am about going nuts here. I'm sure I am missing something stupid obvious here. The best I've gotten is the wireless router connected and able to use the wireless, but I can not access the web page for the wireless router. The only was I can access the webpage for the wireless router is to plug a crossover cable into my computer and into port 1 (not wan)

So, here is our setup...

Router (non wireless unit) with static IP from ISP
- subnet 255.255.255.252
- gateway 69.128.220.21
- dns1 216.165.129.158
- dns2 216.170.153.146

2008 Windows Server acting as DHCP with a range from 192.168.1.150 to 199
- server ip 192.168.1.10
- subnet 255.255.255.0
- gateway 192.168.1.1

Example of PC Ipconfig
- server ip 192.168.1.153
- subnet 255.255.255.0
- gateway 192.168.1.1
- dhcp server 192.168.1.10

I three main areas on my DLINK DIR-655 that I can setup.

INTERNET
WIRELESS SETTINGS
NETWORK SETTINGS

I've reset the factory settings and didn't setup anything on the internet page.

I adjusted the setting for the Wireless to what we want and with my iphone I can use the wireless option.

In the network settings I assigned the following..
- router ip 192.168.1.2
- subnet 255.255.255.0
- device name: dlinkwireless
- local domain name: FGDOMAIN.local
- DNS Relay is currently checked

I then plug it into our switch. Should it be plugged into the switch or the other router? Shouldn't I be able to ping the wireless router at 192.168.1.2? It does work as a wireless AP, so maybe I shouldn't worry about.

Does everything seem right?

Thank you
