Turn off Dual channel mode?

Is there a way to use 2 sticks of memory on a dual channel mobo and not have the modo run in the dual channel mode? If you have 2 sticks of memory that behave a little "iffy" in dual channel mode but still need the total memory they provide in your system can you run them both but not in the dual channel mode?

If you put the two sticks in the same channel, then that would run in single channel mode.

As I don't know what board you have, I can only say check your motherboard manual for details of single and dual channel settings.

If the ram slots are colour coded, IE: channel A is red and channel B is blue, then put the memory in different coloured slots.

If there 'iffy' in dual channel, they would still be 'iffy' in single channel mode I think. As I understand it, dual channel has more to do with how the memory controller access each bank than the memory timing or speed. Mind you if the 'iffy' stick is in a high memory range on the second stick, maybe with single channel you wouldn't hit it as much? dono for sure. If you have memory voltage adjustment on you board, I would try upping the voltage slightly to see if it helps whatever problem you are having.
Try memory testing utilities to verify your problem, maybe one stick at a time. Other problems sometimes 'look' like memory problems. (virus, cpu heat, hd failing)
