Hey gang,
I am looking for some guidance here on what to buy.

Currently I have RR through Time warner with their phone service.

I have no issues with the service, but since TWC and Comcast are merging(or whatever), my cable modem will now cost me an additional $3/month.

I was looking to get this piece from Linksys, but then I would have to go with a packet8 or Vonage type solution for the VOIP.

Is there a piece that does it all?

I need the following in one chassis:
- Cable modem
- Wireless AP
- Wired output (4 ports will work)
- VOIP
- Firewall functionality

Please LMK if my request/question is clear.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

The pros of separate devices usually outweigh the cons. Here is as dense as it gets:

("wired output" which is called a built-in Switch btw)

Options [1 device]
1. [Cable modem + router + firewall + Wireless] + [VoIP adapter]
2. [router + switch + firewall + Wireless+ VoIP] + [Cable modem]
3. [router + switch + firewall + Wireless] + [Cable modem] + [VoIP]

Keep in mind that for basic stuff your best option is these gizmo's + some sort of firewall software such as Norton Firewall or whatever. I recommend the free version of ZoneAlarm if you are looking for something free (just Google "zonealarm" )

-my recommendation: options 2 or three3.
-Any snazzy looking router at the store should be able to do this for you. Cable modem's go for cheap at the store as well.
-for VoIP just get the one your VoIP provider gives you.

Which such a setup all you do is plug the Voip adapter into your router all-in-one device, and then your all-in one to the back of the cable modem. After a few minutes of following the manuals everything should be up and running:)
