Turn DigiCam to WebCam - Possible?

Forgive me if I post this question in the wrong forum.

My friend has a Canon PowerShot S230 Digital Camera and was wondering if he can hook it up to his Windows XP Pro and use it as a live webcam. What accessories does he need, what cable does he need, what software does he need. Wants to know if Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, and NetMeeting will work as the software to capture videos.

[*]Sony Digital8 HandyCam Camcorder DCR-TRV350
 
I think not all digicams can be used as webcam. Usually its stated on the box/manual that the digicam can be used as webcam as well.
