turn around time for a new lenovo laptop build?

just wondered if anyone has ordered a new laptop from Lenovo and would know what the turn around is like?

I ordered a Y550 laptop today and was just curious. the only thing I have ever purchased from them before was an 8GB flash drive and it took 3 months.

also.. is this a good deal?

I just ordered a custom x200 tablet to replace my stolen x61t. I ordered it sometime around Oct 26th and it shipped about 5 days later (the estimated shipping date was around 2.5 weeks after order time).

Pretty good imo.

I don't remember the exact turn around when I ordred my T60 a couple of years ago. But, Lenovo almost caused me panic when they shipped a week ahead of the projected date, and I was not going to be in town to receive the package. Fortunately, we worked it out. 🙂

Wasn't bad with my T500 last year. As noted above, their ship dates can be off. Mine shipped about 4 days eary.

Of course, UPS couldn't find my house, they have several times before and after, and I had to go pick it up.

I've had my T61 for about a year and love it. I think they shipped about 3 days after ordering even though they said to allow for 2 weeks and it got to my door step 2 days later, which is amazing since it was shipped from Hong Kong. It's wierd how that works sometimes.

OP - Lenovo went through some major supply issues about 1-2 years ago after they separated from IBM. They got alot of bad PR from it but they have since recovered. That might have accounted for your delayed flash drive.

I ordered my T400 July of this year, I believe. On the web site it said 4 weeks before shipment, but the CSR told me it's actually 9 business days. It took 7 or 8 days (5-6 business days) to be at my door. As others have said, what the site says is not necessarily accurate.
