Turn 17" monitor into 20"

It only 'blews' up the pixel size... so you'll get no resolution increase or higher refresh rates.. it's like the original Doom effect when an imp is standing 1 meter from you, you'll get some ugly big pixels.. ;)

It's a magnifier, you don't get more screen space! It just makes things look bigger.

what in the hell....ehh? how could you even defy phsyics and even think about having a 17" monitor out of a 15"?

sure it's only magnifying the monitor, but I'm thinking about situation such as this:
my monitor (15 inch) is able to display 1152x864 resolution, but everything would be very small.
using this thing, I can set it to that resolution and viewing it won't hurt my eyes.

has anyone tried it?

It would be interesting to check the 17" - 20" version to see how it looks but, for 60 bucks plus the sale of your existing 15" monitor, you could almost afford to just buy a 17" monitor.

This would be kinda cool for older people. My parents have a computer with a 19" monitor. They refuse to run it at anything but 800x600 :eek:
