$.18/pound for Jennie-O brand @ winco with $25 purchase (including the bird)

I think *some* wally worlds have it cheaper...

I'd love to deep fry it this year, but i don't have the proper equipment yet - maybe next year. For those of you who are deep frying them, be safe! The Underwriters Laboratories has a word or two for you who are doing it this way.

I have two birds in the freezer that were free after $75 purchases at the grocery. $75 is just an every other day grocery bill in my house.

I'm going brine one and smoke it on turkey day.

I got a 15lb buzzard for $6.59 and I plan on stuffing his butt and placing him in a hot oven for a couple of hours! :)

Yeah, they're free up here too. I remember my mom got 2 free one year from Waldbaums and Shoprite since she had to spend like $100 in each store over a month or so time period...

$1.39/lb for a fresh bird at the local farmer's market. The bird is going to be the outer layer of the turducken that I'm frying.

:D

I am working in the meat department this whole weekend at work (walmart) and one of the main things is stocking the freakin turkeys. It pretty much blows:p

I don't have any idea how much it was (I'm assuming it's already been bought), nor how it's going to be cooked. If Thanksgiving dinner is at my house, my parents will probably just cook it traditionally. If dinner is at my aunt's and uncle's house, they might fry it. Mmmm, fried turkey.

I've got a 24 pounder in the oven right now. Cost $6.99 with a minimum purchase of $15.
