FYI, all the stores that carry "fresh" turkeys usually have them marked down drastically today to blow 'em out. They can't freeze these birds and now that thanksgiving's over little demand until X-mas hence the blowout pricing. I'm going to Publix in a bit to check out what's available, last year I got fresh, never frozen Butterball's for $.49lb, you can freeze them yourself and use later but the store can't as the label says "fresh never frozen turkey", gobble!, gobble! gobble!!!!.

Last year on Black Friday I got a deli slicer from Walmart. I use this with a Foodsaver vacuum-sealer...cheap meat + 2-year freezer life ftw :D

My friend buys a bunch and has a big turkey fry next weekend :) I'm excited, it'll be my 3rd thanksgiving.

THAT'S THE SPIRIT!!, it's simple, you just don't shut it off! I'm trying brining for the first time, she's soaking as we speak in prep for a tomorrow launch!
