I am enjoying my stay in your mind, I think I'll start moving furniture around now.

Glancing over some of this person's posts I find them abhorrent. I do believe there is a fundamental problem with Islam but there are many who call themselves Muslim that do not follow through with these troubling commands. I've had Muslim friends who were good people. I knew a guy who was a doctor in Afghanistan, he got run off by the Taliban and despised them. He was a dishwasher in this country and worked his tail off. I would go to his house to visit and his whole family couldn't have been nicer.

To put things in perspective, these folks have seen even less of the world than ol' buckshot here.

They would give the talibans who haven't strayed far from a cave a run for their money.

And again, you missed my point. I was trying to explain that there was a bigger picture going on some 900+ years ago and that things weren't as cut and dry as you were making them out to be. I completely agree with you on many of the things that you're trying to convey. Yes, the thought of killing in the name of God is abhorrent to me. But as far as keeping up with you, that's not hard as all as you're nowhere near as profound as you think you are. I was just trying to point out that there's a bigger picture out there than your simple (but correct in the one aspect that you're pointing out) viewpoint. So yeah, grow up and learn some real history.

The tell that you don't know what you're talking about, is the long litany of criticisms about me and my knowledge, when all you can do is imply that there were..."arguably legitimate" reasons for the Crusades thousands of years ago.

Protip: This present conversation has no bearing on "arguably legitimate" reasons for Crusades thousands of years ago. This present conversation is about someone bitching about Mooselmans "invading" Christian lands, who has as a signature, the call for RENEWED CRUSADES and argues that Christians should go and conquer the Islam world.

Try to keep up.

That's not to mention that saying that there were "arguably legitimate" reasons for the Crusades, without taking into account that those same "arguably legitimate" reasons can be used, today, by Mooselmans in regards to Western/Christian countries, is what makes that reasoning both inconsistent and hypocritical.

That you'd follow up by claiming that I'm the one not taking into account the complications of the real world, deliberate ignorance of history, and that I need to grow up, is absolutely hilarious.

Dear boy, you might want to take a look at the history that you're trying to cite as providing Christians with "arguably legitimate" reasons for entering the lands of people and taking them over by force, and what modern day Islamists argue about why their jihad and holy wars are, uh, "arguably legitimate".

Protip: both the Crusades of the past, and jihad today, are based on human beings claiming that they have a religious obligation to do whatever they feel necessary on behalf of God.

Everything else is conjecture and rationalization. Period.

That you think some religious figure telling an army that they have a right to do X, Y, and Z because GOD! might be "arguably legitimate" is quite telling. Especially when it's only "arguably legitimate" when one religious group gets to use it, but not another.

Don't damage the holy book for the religion of peace!

Punjab town tense after torn pages of Quran found, over 250 booked

A Punjab Assembly legislator’s property was damaged by a mob on Saturday morning in Ludhiana’s Malerkotla after a group, which wanted to complain about someone “tearing” the pages of the Quran, was allegedly turned away from meeting her.

Over 250 persons have been booked on attempt to murder charges but no arrest has been made so far. Although the situation is under control, police said the city is still tense.

Though it could have been much worse (graphic), they aren't much better in the US (eg, they would have if the popo wasn't there).

Don't worry, I won't appropriate your culture.

BTW, the political/media narrative is falling apart, and they are admitting isis = islam.

They work straight out of this book (but deny it.)

Alinsky - Rules for Radicals

It's often said the human species are uniquely blessed with the ability for introspection, but this is evidently overstated given the pervasiveness of jingoism.

Very amusing when people who've never been on the right side of history discriminating against this group or that always consider themselves the righteous ones. Personally imo teachers need to take some of the blame, because they have 12 years of state mandated opportunity to teach persons however stupid something to that end.

Don't you all know that unless you hate all Muslims and blame them all for the actions of a few, you can't be on Team Derp. Get with the program! Unless you have become what you hate, there is the door...

There's something to be said that jingoism/xenophobia is often tied in with religious or religion-like belief. "Faith", that unwavering self-confidence in face of all factual reality is like a skill that is developed over time.

There can literally be a video showing these folks spewing the same crap as every failed hate group in history, and their powerful cognitive dissonance will isolate the part of the brain which processes these facts from the part that continues spewing.

It's all clear enough because they will never display any sign of comprehending the previous paragraph, and keep on truckin' with the little loop in their head.
