TurboTax vs QuickTax for DRM stuff

Correct me if I'm wrong, but QuickTax is the Canadian version of TurboTax, released by Intuit, correct? If this is infact the case, can QuickTax be expected to contain all of the same DRM technology as TurboTax? Checking Intuit.ca and Intuit.com doesn't provide much information. There is a ton of information on the protections included with TurboTax, but very little on those included with QuickTax.

With the recent news about TurboTax modifying the boot sector of your HD, I'm reluctant to take the chance on QuickTax.

Anybody have any info they could add?

Did anyone buy QuickTax to do their taxes this year? What were your experiences with the activation part of it?

If QuickTax has activations it sounds like it is using the same technology as TurboTax. I would avoid it at all costs. 🙂

Used TaxCut this year. Not a sweet as TurboTax, but most of the info was sucked in OK.

Same here. I've used Turbo Tax for years (bought it every year). I now use TaxCut. Not as pretty, but it worked just fine.

Taxcut... an H&R block product apparently, doesn't seem to offer a Canadian version, which is odd, because H&R block has a fairly significant presence here.
