Last year I bought Turbotax to prepare my tax returns.
I am now getting offers from Quicken to buy Turbotax 2001.......with all changes in tax code etc.....

Does this mean that my 2000 version is useless?
Doo I have to buy a whole new product every year from them?

Yes, you must buy a new version every year because the tax laws change.

yes... that is why you want to make sure you get TurboTax each year while it is on sale, with a rebate and a free somethingerother... b/c otherwise... it just sucks to pay full price EVERY year... At least e-filing is free when you buy TT.

On the other hand... those clowns could just allow you to buy it once, and then download the Tax Code updates... at least for a few years. Make you buy a new version every 3 years. The just do that to screw the consumer and make sure they make more money every year. Ugh... now you got me all worked up.

Also, all the imbedded forms would say tax year 2000. Wait till the end of January or early February to purchase, the tax software wars start heating up around then for better deals.
