I have used TT since it's inception. Never any problems and always confident I was getting the max refund. That being said I have decided to switch to H&R this year and found this:

No links to eBay

Gives me a chance to try Trend AV out also.

If you just work once job and no business. Just use online only versions. No reason to buy into the whole you must have software routine.
They do free federal, and for me only for $10 to do state.

Nice got home and business for $70.

I've used turbo tax home and business for years as I was originally self employed and now my wife is. One year I tried Tax Cut and greatly regretted it. It just didn't have as much info or guidance, whereas Turbo Tax always answered all of my questions and helped me make the right choices. I ended up having to guess my way though some stuff with Tax Cut and cross my fingers when filing. I decided to stick with Turbo tax from that year on.

i'm sure its for both state and fed. have used TT for over 8 years now

No, to the best of my knowledge, TT has never included state e-file in it's package pricing. It is always an added cost. At least this has been the way for as long as I have used it. Not certain how long I have been using it, mid 90's anyway. I started using it in the 2nd year of it's release by Intuit.

I switched over from TurboTax to H&R Block At Home several years back. AFAIK the two products have similar capabilities and look-and-feels.

Amazon has the H&R Block At Home (fed+state+5 free fed e-file) for $29.95 (with media if you choose). That's $10 less than the TubroTax download.

Two weeks ago I jumped on this when the Amazon price was just $23. Unfortunately the forums were down at the time and the price jumped to $29.95 the next day.
IMO TurboTax is more polished and the interview is a little better than H&R Block At Home.

But you're right that H&R Block is a better value than TT.
