TurboTax Deluxe, $29.95 before rebate at Von's

On my way out of our grocery store, Von's in SoCal, they had a box of TurboTax Deluxe in a DVD package for $29.95 before rebate. Looks like the best real price I have seen, but it wasn't plastered on the outside with all the rebate stuff the normal boxed package has, so I am not sure it includes them. More than half of the box was gone, so I am going to try and grab one today and check the details.

I would say there are a lot of features and options in the software that probably can't be found online. If you live at home with your mom, or you're a student, then I could see where the online version would do. Where did you do yours?

I buy the deluxe version so I can print out any form I want any time I want, like on 4/15/02 or two years later. Also the deluxe version has tax options that the basic versions don't. Worse I don't file the Turbotax version, just use it to give data to my accountant and compare with his results.

The other half of the reason is that I want Quicken 2002 Deluxe, and that makes the TurboTax essentially free.

I did mine at turbotax.com. They have the fed long forms as well as the short and state as well. Has all the same features as the store bought software. It cost 19.95 to efile fed and 12.95 to do state. Thats what you would pay for just the fed stuff here and you still have to purchase the state software.

Plus if you make under a certain amount you can get efiling for free.
