Turboboost problem with i5 760

Hi,

Just plugged in an i5 760 to replace my i3 530. What impressed me about this cpu is the turboboost feature, but i think it is not working properly in my system.

When the systems posts, i see the cpu being reported as a 2.93Ghz cpu, at 133x22. Now, if i understand correctly, the reported speed during post is using the turboboost multiplier, so shouldn't that be 3.3Ghz at 133x25 for an i5 760 cpu?

I am not planning to do any overclocking on this cpu because, well, it handles that by itself. I just find the +1 multiplier step a bit underwhelming. How can i get turboboost to use the 25x multiplier (thereby making the cpu work as advertised!)

What i already tried was loading the bios defaults but that didn't change anything.

Some more info:
motherboard is a Gigabyte H55M-USB3, recently flashed with latest BIOS version.
2x crucial ballistix sticks of 2Gb each
ATI 5750 card from Sapphire

Any help/suggestions appreciated!

During post the reported speed should be default (base) clock.
Run some benchmark like winrar's built in test (without multithreading box checked) and observe CPUz and what it shows.

Ok, the problem is between the screen and the seat 🙂 I downloaded a tool to monitor the multipliers and they continously dance between 9 and 25.

Pardon my stupidity!
