Is Turbo Tax Deluxe worth the extra ten dollars? Wonder what the difference is besides the bells and whistles. I'm not self-employed or anything and have an one income paying job, nothing to complicated.

you can probably get by with the regular turbo tax. YOu will still have to buy the state version and send in the rebate for it.

What you get with the deluxe is a rebate cupon for the state version. You still have to buy the state version and then send in the cupon. I think this sucks as they are making you buy both the federal and state. And then you have to send in a cupon to get you're money back which will take a few months.

Buy the Deluxe version of Turbo Tax. Here's why:

Standard Version: $14.99 ($19.99 -$5.00 mail-in rebate)
State Version $29.99 (No rebates, etc.
Total Net Cost: $45.00

Deluxe Version: $29.99 ($39.99 -$10.00 mail-in rebate)
State Version $FREE ($29.99 -$29.99 mail-in rebate)
Total Net Cost: $29.99

I got cheap and purchased the regular version - only to find out that the state version was going to soak me for another $30.

Don't even consider TaxCut. That program is a P.O.S. I purchased it the other evening, then went on-line to purchase the state version which was then downloaded. Now, TaxCut can't locate or recognize the state portion.

Turbo Tax is a safe bet.
