Turbo Memory with SSD

I?m upgrading my Dell D830 to a 120 GB Vertex SSD. The system is equipped with 4 GB of RAM and a 2 GB Intel Turbo Memory card.

Is there any advantage at all to keeping the Turbo Memory? Will it hurt performance with an SSD?

I?ve done some research and the reviews of this technology are mixed. Most of the information is 18+ months old. I have not seen reviews testing the effectiveness of the Turbo Memory with the latest drivers or under Windows 7. It seemed helpful with the old 5400 RPM drive. My gut tells me that with read speed of the SSD, the Turbo Memory would just get in the way but I wanted a second opinion.

Thanks

According to the reviews I've seen online.

Turbo Memory is just a form of ReadyBoost

-If you have over 2GB of RAM it can actually reduce performance
-It occasionally improves battery life

IMO you shoulda ditched it to start with...

Turbo Memory is just Intel's built-in, on the motherboard ReadyBoost

Now I completely agree.
