Tuniq Tower with stock fan or scythe slipstream?

I have a Tuniq tower and also a 1900rpm scythe slipstream. If i was to switch the fan to the slipstream, would I see better cooling or would it be quieter with the same amount of cooling? I plan to plug the fan into a fan controller as well with either fan.

I've got a similar setup except pairing my Tuniq w/a soon-to-arrive Slipstream 1200rpm.
I thought i'd read somewhere on here that the Slipstreams aren't the best for heatsinks, though I may have mis-read.
 
You would be correct Tullphan. I have seen several reviews state that they make great case fans but for fans for heatsinks with dense fan spacing(i.e. tuniq and TRUE) due to poor static pressure. Whenever I get around to redoing the fans in my system I am going with slipstreams on the case and yates on the HS.
 
The supplied Tuniq is matched well to this HSF. There's not much of a difference between fans given the midship location. Scythe 1900rpm fans at 90cfm are quiet in the free air but will noticeably hiss when mounted in the TT.
 
One review site said turning up the bundled fan doesn't make a big difference in cooling, so since the bundled fan is quiet at low RPM then why replace it?
 
Funny...I typed in the model # of the Tuniq fan & it turned up as a Scythe "DF" series.
1600RPM, 27.92 dBA, 60.09CFM.
Perhaps the Scythe "DF" series is a different animal than the "Slipstream" series.

The Scythe DF is a very different animal than the slipstream. Essentially(from what I can tell) it's predecessor and now sold mostly to OEMs.

I'm one of the guys that keeps mentioning that the slipstreams are great case fans but, not ideal for situations that require higher static pressure due to the blade design. IMHO, use the slipstream for a case fan and leave the stock fan on the Tuniq.
 
Too bad for Antec....When I started the second round of testing, I realized the Antec didn't have an RPM wire. In that round I was measuring RPM drop at various resistances at different voltages. So I couldn't use the Antec 3-speed fan (from an Antec case).
 
Well, I put the stock fan back in my TT & re-positioned it according to an official you-tube video I saw (fan blowing up)...heck I even got a wild hair up my butt & lapped it & used some IC 7.
I didn't notice a heck of alot of difference after all that trouble...i'm kinda disappointed.
