Tuniq Tower Question

I just put a tuniq tower in my gigabyte p35c-dsr board. The fan runs extremely quite! Too Quite! I did check and it is running :) When i change the fan speed (rear knob) I don't hear a difference. Are these things that quite?

In the Bios I get 382 rpm (on low) and 1000 rpm (on high). I thought the tuniq went up to the 2700 rpm range.

Is there another way to tell the rpms?
Or is there something else going on?

Not to hijak your thread, but did you tighten the golden bolts all the way down until the springs were solid? I just noticed by tightening one of my screws (cant reach the others with it installed in the case) that my temps went down 5 degress on both my cores. I wonder if I tighten the other 3 if that will help more?

Back to the OP, the only way I can think of monitoring your RPM's is to use a program like speedfan, however, if your not using the 4 pin cpu connector (this varies?) you may not beable to monitor?
(Others, please correct me if im wrong!)

I tighten the screws down to the board until i could not see any threads. That way i know they are all even. That was the pocedure explained to me by somebody else.

The tuniq has a 3 wire power adapter which is plug into my board.

Just did some testing with mine, and mine is plugged in exactly like yours. tuniq -> tuniq fan controller -> cpu fan slot on mobo.

I used speedfan to gather rpm data, and found when turning speed knob, it would detect rpm from ~1650 down to 1300, and from 1300 and under, it just showed 0.

Hope this helps.

Tuniq Tower 120 fans top out @ 2000 RPM...

They are dead quiet at 1200 RPM or less, as you've found out.

1500 RPM is a good compromise for normal use - you can hear the fan, but it isn't irritating...

Anyway, 1000 RPM isn't gonna do jack for your cooling - not with a Tuniq!

Do you have the same mobo as me? What fan header did you plug into? Can you describe the location?

If you're asking me, no, we have different mobos. Mine doesn't control the fan speed through BIOS.

The fix is simple. I've read it several times, but didn't pay any attention 'cause it doesn't affect my setup.

Somebody will come along pretty soon... ;)

sorry, i thought i quoted Trover. Speed fan is not reported correctly. lts like 222220000 rpm and the bios is too low. not sure if that is correct and I have a problem or just a reporting error.

Any other 3rd party fan rpm speed reporting software out there?
