Tuniq Tower and Q6600 problems

I've been using a Tuniq Tower 120 on my 3.2GHz Q6600 for over two years and it kept it pretty cool. I recently had to move the computer a few hundred miles so I took off the massive heatsink. Last night I attempted to reinstall it and reapplied some Arctic Silver on it in a horizontal line. No matter how tight I make the thumbscrews the heatsink physically feels loose and my temperatures are getting to 100C and shutting down my computer. I'm certain it's loose because when I push down on the top of the tuniq tower, the CPU temperatures come into line again. I also ran the Q6600 underclocked at 1.86GHz at 1 volt and under load it stays below 60C so there's clearly some contact between the tuniq tower and my Q6600. Any advice on how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

It's been a long while since I installed my TT120, but I think I had a similar problem and started over. After getting the initial threading for all four screws, I alternated in single revolutions for each. I think I went upper-left->lower-right->upper-right->lower-left. As the screws got taught, I reduced to half-revolutions for each screw until all four were tight enough. No wobble, and my C2D/EE temps at 3.4 were below the proc's expected temp for all-stock, so I considered it a success. Didn't pull it off for three years, daily driver.

Also, you might wanna check the backplate and make sure it hasn't come loose or is angled at all from the plane of the mobo.
