tuniq tower 120 problems

just got a tuniq tower 120 on a ga-965p-ds3 board. if i screw it in too much, it won't post. it powers on, fans turn on and everything, but no output to the monitor, and no error beeps from the mobo. the screws have to be so loose that i can rotate the tuniq about 10. any ideas? thanks, matt
 
also, if i leave the case upright, it will eventually reset (in 10-15 mins or less) and go into that state (no post, etc). temps are ok, so that is not causing it to reset. plus, if i lay the case on its side, it seems to be ok.

could the mounting be doing something to the board or cpu to cause this? does anyone else have the tuniq tower 120 on a ds3?
