I need your expert opinion.
I decided to build a PC from scratch (my first time ever). I bought an Intel DP55KG "Extreme Series" motherboard, installed an Intel Quad-Core i7-860 processor (it's an LGA-1156 socket), and now it's time to install a "Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme" cooler that I've bought.
Problems
It turns out that the installation manual is quite cryptic.
First, it is not clear which side of the support back-plate should face the motherboard: the side with the nylon layer, or the other side without it.
The manual has a red line saying "The side with letters is the topside" (referring to the backplate). But it turns out that both sides have the "letters" (markings!), so which side should face the mobo?
Second, I read somewhere that the nylon layer is supposed to protect the motherboard from the plate shorting it out. But is seems that, when you press the back plate against the mobo, it presses against the CPU backplate, and does not touch the mobo at all. Is that how it's supposed to work?
Third question: it seems that if you follow the manual: insert the nuts on the 4 screws (the nuts which the manual calls: "screw caps T120-06"), plus add the 4 washers T120-09, then the backplate does not touch the mobo at all (except at the washers). After installation, Should there be an air gap between the backplate and the mobo? (so that the backplate is touching the mobo only at the four washers?)
Please help, I am scared to keep on with the installation before these issues are cleared
