Tuniq has just released a terrible trio of power supplies. The Ensemble comes in 1200 and 1000 Watt versions, while the Miniplant is "only" a 950 Watt beast.

The Miniplant comes in a standard PS2 size (3.5x5.8x6.2 inches HWD) and yet still manages to pack in 950 Watts of high-energy goodness. Both Ensemble models are larger (3.3x5.8x8.7 inches HWD), meaning they will not fit into every enclosure. But at 1000 and 1200 Watts, if you need that much power, chances are pretty good that you've got a case with a bit of room.

All three of the PSUs are designed to be efficient (80% or better minimum) and fairly quiet (under 30dBA) even at max load. The fan controls on the PSUs keep noise levels to a minimum, based upon the current load. In high-end custom machines (such as those using alternatives to forced-air cooling), the PSU is often one of the biggest noise criminals. Tuniq's power supplies may offer a somewhat quieter alternative.

With adequate cable lengths and connectors for a veritable army of components, the Ensemble and Miniplant PSUs are admirably suited for use in your high-end systems. If you're looking for a new power supply and want more info, check out Tuniq's power supply index.

This is kind of a first for Sunbeam. The only other PSUs they've made are pretty budget-grade ones (500W ones for $20 a pop). But they had a good product with the Tuniq, so who knows. Reviews should be interesting.

I'll be damned, sunbean in PSU arena? I thought PSU isn't too lucrative, but tehn again at 1000W level they are. probably high margin too. No wonder so many company doing 1k+ units now. Hope this is a good one, 80+ nice! Is it modular too? I think my next PSU unit is a 1000W one that 80+. who knows maybe an ensemble :] if corsair don;t get my money first.

Would I have to use a (gulp) Lian-Li case?

That would be the hard part for me! :D

@Vin - it would be pretty pointless to go there, young Vin...reasonable folks might question the pricing of certain Lian Li's, but the quality..? looks...? Build experience? There are a precious few cases that can step into the same arena. I'm guessing you never built a Lian Li?
